Matthew 8
14 ¶ And when
Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.
15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and
she arose, and ministered unto them.

Matthew 8:2. A little
child] As this discussion
apparently took place in Capernaum in the home of Peter, it is not unlikely
that this was one of Peter's young children.

At this point the disciples asked: "Who
is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" In answer, "Jesus called a little child unto him," no doubt one of Peter's children, "and set him in the midst of them." Mark
says he [Jesus] took the child "in his arms." With
the scene thus set, Jesus said:
Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and
become as little children, ye shall not enter into the
kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom
of heaven.
